Hub 3: CANADA

How walking methodologies are represented, reported, and archived will be the focus of this hub. Mobile methodologies question standard practices that rely on passive storage and fixed models of representation. Working with contemporary artists, collectives, and galleries this hub will foreground the fact that a digital archive can not exist as a storage facility but as an online open access creative artwork (anarchive) in an of itself, that proliferates through networks and nodes of research-creation. Dr. Springgay will work with contemporary artists and galleries to experiment with, analyze and develop methods related to movement and the anarchive. An exhibition, a series of discursive events with a special focus on connecting universities with public sector art institutions, and a experimental-formal digital artist catalogue will be produced on the theme of walking and archiving.
